email:Dr. Boyd was Assistant and Associate Professor at Jackson State University (1977 - 1982). In 1982 he joined the faculty of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he has twice served as interim Chair of the Mathematics (1988 and 1992-94). .
Dr. Eddie Boyd has a significant interest in Mathematics Education. He has served as Faculty Advisory Committee to State Board of Higher Education (1983-85), as Mathematics Credit Count Committee of the Maryland State Department of Education (1985-87), and as member of Wicomico County Board of Education (1995-present).
Dr. Boyd has been awarded Mathematics Teacher of the Year at Jackson State University 1979; People's Choice Teacher of the Year at UMES, 1985; Omega Educator of the Year, 1995 Quality Education for Minorities (QEM) Network, Excellence in Mathematics or Science Teaching Award, 1996.
