Dr. James Davenport, Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics at Virginia State University, Petersburg. Dr. Davenport is well-known to generations of physics students across the nation as a result of his having served since 1974 as the Resident Faculty Coordinator of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory's Summer Internship Program for Undergraduate Students.
