Associate Professor of Physics. Full-time faculty member. Teaches normal load for physics faculty members and directs research of several Masters and Ph.D. candidates as below. Present fields of specialization are Solid State Physics and Low Temperature Physics with special emphasis on Magnetic and Thermal Properties of Solids, 1966-1969 Assistant Professor of Research, Physics Department. Thesis advisor for four students who obtained Masters of Science Degrees in Physics and was the advisor to several Master of Science Candidates.

Dr. Thorpe has listed over 93 publications in journals such as the Journal of Geophysical Research 69, Physical Review, 1975 no.3, the Journal of Radiation Effects 19, and the Journal of Bioinorganic Chemistry 3.
