Edward Bouchet, The First African-American Doctorate

Edited by Ronald E. Mickens

This is a new book edited by Dr. Ronald Mickens, a reknown Mathematician and Physicist, of Clark-Atlanta University. Many new details about Bouchet, and others such as Elmer Imes and Willie Hobbs Moore. There are details far surpassing the sum of the material appearing on our Bouchet web page, Imes web page, and Moore web page. This is a good read.

Edward Bouchet was the sixth American and the first African American to receive a Ph.D. in Physics.

Elmer Imes is the African American research physicist.

Willie Hobbs Moore is the first African American woman to earn a Ph.D. in Physicist.
