Schools and places               
     I was born in Hanoi and lived in the capital, entered Dong Da school (at that time was an English gifted junior high school) as my mom was a teacher there.
     I then moved to Ho Chi Minh city with my parents and there I entered Le Hong Phong high school (gifted math program). I participated in some regional and national competitions, won some prizes and got into top 10 students when I graduated.
     In 1998, I entered National University of Natural Sciences at Ho Chi Minh City, being the student of highest entrance exam score and therefore I entered a gifted program. In 2002, I earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Computer Sciences, was also awarded for being student of highest record (9.38/10).
     Upon graduating, I received an offer from Silicon Design Solutions Inc, hired as an algorithm designer.
     In 2003, I applied and was accepted into graduate school, Mathematics Department of SUNY Buffalo, received a scholarship, a teaching assistantship as well as a fellowship. I started off as a graduate assistant, then teaching assistant and now an instructor.

Research Interests
     Applied Mathematics, professionalized in numerical analysis, spectral method, dynamic PDEs and applications. Design and apply approximation algorithm.
     Combinatorial optimization algorithm, computer designing algorithm.

 Hobbies             
     I enjoy doing math, solving problems, extending results, creating new conjectures and similar math stuff, ..., and anyway, those are parts of being a graduate students in math ;)
     Besides, I also love programming (especially when it is algorithm related), creating small programs as well as writing some mind games. Recently, I focus on using C/C++, Java and Matlab/Octave. I am planning to post some of my software and games on this site.
     I play badminton with friends every Fridays. I am a member of UB badminton club. I am also trying to improve my lousy swimming skills ;)
     In my free time, I love reading wuxia (martial art book stories), playing chess, blogging, watching anime, listening to music. I am a member of UB Anime club. I have been watching Bleach and Naruto series. I am also a pretty good gamer, especially strategy games and action RPG games. My favorite series is Super Robot Wars, which involves lots of tactics.
     I am a member of the Vietnamese Graduate Student Association in SUNY Buffalo, was president of the group for 2 years.
